Utah offers some amazing skiing. Breathtaking snowfalls across sensational mountain ranges inspire skiing, snowboarding and many other activities which might add fun to the natural environment. Great Salt Lake

No Utah visit is complete without a visit to the Great Salt Lake! This naturally occurring 'inland ocean' is approximately 75 miles long and about 35 miles wide. It is actually a remnant of Lake Bonneville; a great ice age lake that rose dramatically from a small saline lake 30,000 years ago. The saline level (salt content) varies from year to year. It is too salty to support fish, or most marine life, and the evaporation rate and varied shoreline has frustrated lakeside developers. As the larget lake west of the Mississippi, the Great Salt Lake is a national monument.
